George’s British

God Save the B's

In the early 70’s I raced a pristine 1970 Triumph Spitfire, chocolate brown and very fast. The good folks at Group 44 helped me set it up and I am still grateful.

I have been restoring British Sports Cars since my 13th Birthday when my oldest brother gave me his 1957 MGA before leaving for Viet Nam in the 60’s. Over the years I have restored many and slipped into the comfort of driving a few Jaguar XJS’s. I always wanted an XKE but never could afford it so I settled for an S. I have owned and restored MGTC's, TD's, TF's, MGA's and a few B's

My 1967 Austin Healey MKIII 3000 was lost in a bitter custody dispute to my Ex in 1996. She said I would see the car when I die..........Oh well time to rebuild the stable. She is still holding hostage my 1971 Series IIA Land Rover, 1984 BRG XJS-V12 and the rest of my belongings. Now that I have moved to Texas, I have ran across a 1972 MGB for $600.00 and wouldn’t you know it, it did not have the usual rust. I was amazed and delighted to find I have an easy restoration for once. I have arleady rebuilt the front and rear suspension, put new tires on it and now am ready to do the body work.

The previous owner took the time and effort to take off all of the chrome and paint the car with interior latex paint with a roller. I guess they thought it would wash off since it was a water base paint. Now I have hours to spend with a pressure washer.

God Bless Texas!!!

I will ad more to this page as the restoration continues……God Save the Bs
